Recipe Book

Our Mothers Union publication 'Simple Meals for Skint Single' has sold well at Glasgow University fresher's week each year.

Knitting gowns for still born babies

A new project that is taking off. Many still born babies are buried in paper gowns. We have recently approached some baby units in Glasgow and they are very happy to receive these beautifully knitted or sewn gowns. If the baby is too small for the gowns we also make 'angel pockets' that are shown in the picture. We give a prayer to the knitter and a prayer for the parents and send them with our love.

Along with friends we also knit babies hats of all sizes for use in premature units.

Toilet Bags

Many branches provide these to women and children in centres for domestic abuse, for refugees, emergency admission wards and long stay wards.

Parenting Project

We have trained facilitators who have run classes in the Diocese.  The facilitator is not an 'expert' in the field but is there to help parents approach problem areas from a different perspective and arrive at solutions to problems through discussion.  If there is anyone in the area who would be interested in hearing more about the project contact us.
